About Leela Yoga

Leela Yoga is a vision on yoga around the concept of life and yoga as a Leela (play or theatre) and Leela Yoga is also the name for a simple organisation that allows me to bring this vision into practice. My name is Peter Marchand and I created this organisation in 2006. To understand the how and why you can get some insight into the details of my personal Leela here.

Background

In short, I was involved with the vedic tradition from a rather young age and met Harish Johari when I was 20 years old. He remained my only teacher until he left his body 19 years later. Since that time I have had many other teachers and I started teaching myself in 2005. I wrote 4 books (2006 Yoga of Nine Emotions, 2007 Yoga of Truth, 2019 Love Your Ego, 2022 Tantric Advaita) and have published over 100 hours of free teaching video's on Youtube.

Teaching

I rather believe that in this age, distributing general spiritual knowledge & wisdom does not require me to travel and give classes everywhere, since that kind of knowledge can easily be shared on the internet. Everybody can enjoy it at the most suitable time, my own practice is not disturbed by all this traveling and neither is the environment burdened by it. Every wednesday eve I used to give a free class in my hometown (Gent, Belgium) and these classes also served to make more video's available for sharing. Nowadays with the Covid-19 pandemic, in person teachings have been replaced by a weekly Satsang online.

Coaching

Anyhow, my emphasis lies on teaching people in person, or rather on personally guiding them to correctly apply the teachings in their own situation. I offer personal coaching for what I hope are affordable fees, by meeting in person or through videocalls.

Healing

I have learned the Tantric healing arts from Kedar Upreti, a seventh generation tantric healer from the Tantric & Ayurvedic Healing Center in Kathmandu - Nepal. If you have the experience of an ongoing physical, mental/emotional or spiritual difficulty and can't seem to get rid of it in the usual ways, then Tantric healing might be something for you. These practices can also support your spiritual development and practice and most of them can also work long-distance. More on healing here...

Donations

Whomever likes to support the Leela Yoga activities is very welcome to make a donation that helps to keep the teaching fees affordable, as well as allowing more video classes to be put online.

Aum Guru Kali Guru Mahakali Deviyaye Swaha.

About

Leela is the ancient vedic name for the theater of life. Life in all its forms is an illusion behind which we can find the ultimate truth of pure Being. Yet life is also a divine theater, a spiritual game played by us, the actors. Yoga allows us to hold on to the bliss of truth while playing the game. And also this yoga is a game, which we can only take seriously if we do not take ourselves and this game too seriously. That is the meaning of Leela Yoga, nothing more, nothing less. So, Leela Yoga is a vision on yoga and also a name for a simple organisation that allows me to bring this vision into practice... more about Leela Yoga & Peter Marchand

Quotes

As the destination is the same for all, it is easy to make the error of assuming that the path must be just as universal.

The attachment that happens in the pursuit of happiness is the main source of unhappiness.

Don't think of going somewhere, because this somewhere will come along with you wherever you go, as you are already there.

Yoga requires unity between enjoyment and suffering, between bhoga and yoga, even between attachment and detachment.

How can anyone be "good" without a choice between good and bad?

While the mind creates the illusion of the universe through the senses, the intellect creates the illusion of understanding it.

When our day has been entirely ego-centered, then our meditation will probably have similar poor quality.

When the focus on the self is held strongly enough, the flow of kundalini energy happens on its own, naturally.

Tiptoe inside, don't make a sound, don't scare away that which cannot be found.

Enlightenment is nothing more or less than the final level of the game of life.
